Cobourg Beach Society
Tired of looking at " No Trespassing" signs?? The Cobourg Beach Society is a group of long time Cobourg residents who believe that a park should be created in Cobourg from Factory Creek to the water filtration plant, below the traditional high water mark, so that all citizens can have access to this traditional right of way.

May Meeting
One Down Three To Go: May 2010
Let us thank the Fullerton family who sold their beach property to the Town recently. This is a step in the right direction: towards a quiet public access nature preserve ( no parties, broken glass, litter etc ) all the way to Factory Creek-- on a beach we have used for two centuries.
Mayor Peter Delanty spoke to the Cobourg Beach Society on May 13 and emphasised that the town is dedicated to this preserve, it is part of the official plan, and they will continue pursuing it. He emphasized that the town would like to proceed through cooperative negotiation rather than the messy and unfriendly business of expropriation. The Beach Society supports this view.
We are growing and our voice is being heard. Join us!! next meeting: June 13 2010-- upper room in the Cat and Fiddle. All welcome. Bring a friend!!

Welcome to our interactive website. We are using this site to enlist support for creating a park along all of Cobourg's shoreline, from the water filtration plant to Factory Creek. Only a park can preserve this public right of way for future generations, and remove the fences and no trespassing signs that cover the West Beach. We invite your comments and invite you to leave an e mail address to join our list of friends and supporters.
